I think a woman should do whatever the hell she wants to with her body. If that's aborting a fetus, cool; if that's carrying octuplets, that's cool, too.
That said, there are a number of reasons why carrying "beyond capacity" is a crappy/irresponsible thing to do: 1) unsafe for her and the babies in most cases, 2) almost certainly too much to handle as a parent given the time, energy, and money it must require, 3) selfish given that the planet is already overpopulated with humans anyway.

when i'll find the right girl to have my own children; in my opinion 2 babies at once is too much for me haha i prefer pregnancy with one baby and my girl to have a pretty nice big belly.
i really like when women are pregnant with multiples but for me to handle with it. i think no haha
i think having triplets is too much already, but perfectly fine.
having Twins is okay
having one is perfect

I'll disagree and say that a woman has to consider what's best for the CHILD not just what's convenient for herself. I love pregnancy as much as the next forum member but, we have way too many irresponsible mothers here in the states. For them I'd say one pregnancy is too much.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at since there is no such thing as "capacity" when it comes to pregnancy. While it is true that the risk factor of a pregnancy increases as the number of fetuses increases, it's not like there's some kind of magic cutoff number beyond which women shouldn't go. As if they really have any control over how many they get pregnant with anyway. Even with IVF there are no guarantees: implanting four embryos can result in one fetus, and implanting one embryo can result in two or (very rarely) even 3-4 fetuses.
Furthermore, the women who do knowingly implant multiple embryos and end up with quads, quints, or more are often doing so because it is their best, or last, or only shot at getting pregnant. IVF treatment is extraordinarily expensive and not covered by insurance, so some couples try to maximize the bang for their buck. Sociopaths like Octomom and the Duggars are the extreme statistical outliers.

1. Not true at all for "most" cases. Higher risk, yes, but modern medicine has gotten pretty amazing.
2. Meaningless if you want to be a parent bad enough. If/when you become a parent, you will understand.
3. If you're really all that concerned about this then you've got some other people to talk to first, starting with the religious whack jobs who don't believe in birth control.

We're so close to a debate here.
I can't resist pushing it over the edge.
Look, here's what we really need:
- People of a certain political persuasion to give up purely ideological, impractical-in-real-life stances on things like birth control and condoms, both of which are radically inexpensive tools that can actively prevent unwanted pregnancies. If the lower class had better access to these things, our entire society would be a lot better off. And if they're not going to do that, show that they care about life by providing for it after it's born when the parents can't.
- People of another political persuasion to stop fucking deluding themselves about when life begins, and treat it fucking seriously when they end that life.
There, I fixed the whole problem. What's next?

I've been talking almost exclusively about the crazies like Octomom.
As much as I love non-singleton pregnancies as a fetishist, I will always want an understanding of the motives of someone who does IVF and is like, "oh, four babies? More for God's kingdom, yay!" or whatever weirdness people use to validate breeding like crazy.

I'm perpetually waiting to discover a woman that makes it 9 months and possibly overdue with 10 or more babies. So no there is no "too much" for me.
