Not sure if this has already been posted or if this is even the right place for this but I thought it would be good to have a thread discussing how everyone takes their candids. I know I have seen posts about apps for phones and long distance shots with strong lenses on cameras. basically I thought we could start a post specifically detailing everyones favorite method. I am not very good at taking candids but when I do I usually just try to keep my phone screen hidden and hold it in a way that isn't too suspicious lol. please feel free to post your method and hopefully everyone can learn some new tricks and get more candid uploads.
I will attach an attempt I took earlier as a nice bonus. I was at the grocery store waiting on the deli department so I had my back up against a wall and just held my phone at a position that wasn't too weird lol.

I took some candids in a grocery store the other day (still have to post from my phone). For me, it's easiest if I run video and then do some screenshots from that. That's a bit more on the technical side. As far as being discreet, I'd like to see some tips and tricks too.

Guess I'm a 'picture sniper'... I enjoy my Nikon P900. If I can see her with my eye, I can fill the pic with her. With a side-angle screen, it is hard for anyone to see where I am pointing or when I'm taking a picture (as opposed to viewing through an eyepiece). On the downside, even with correction, it is easy to accidentally move the camera and blur/ruin the shot. Very good at the pool, especially when it looks like I'm taking pics of my own family. Also good for high hotel rooms overlooking pools, etc. Excellent at zoos, amusement parks, and similar where I take family. Usually good on the beach, but longer shots suffer from shimmer - heat coming off sand and any mist.
I want to get a 90-degree tip mirror to stick on my cell phone to let me take pics while holding the phone flat. Has anyone tried?
