For those who aren't aware starting April, new laws in the UK will take into affect, which will make it mandatory for users there to provide credit card info to be able to access porn sites in an attempt to keep anyone under the age of 18 from visiting those sites. And I was surprised that this wasn't discussed here sooner since a good number of users here are from the UK, and according to the law, the site can receive a fine of up to $250,000 and/or be blocked from UK ISPs if it doesn't implement the ID age check.

The law only applies to sites that provide porn on a "commercial basis" - i.e. that charge for it.

That probably won't change anything at all.

when it comes to people making these stupid laws I don't get why we can't have people that actually know a thing or two about technology instead we have these old fucks that only know how to invade others privacy. I'm pretty sure they tried blocking porn or something before but it obviously didnt work.

When will law makers learn that you can't legislate morality? It's something that has to be taught at home. All this will do(if it does anything at all) is make users get they porn they want without paying for it.
