most of the files literally went from being say 500MB to zero bytes. is there way to solve this issue

where were it stashed on a broken hard drive, cloud?

If it was on your hard drive, you might try some data recovery software, but that is a total crapshoot and you'd better try it quick before the physical parts of the disk get overwritten by something else.

If it was on cloud storage, you're probably fucked.

You'll also want to find out what caused that to happen. Either a program/virus did it or your hard drive is dying.

Make backups next time.

basically i had to stop all recording in order to do something so when you stop it converts the file to mp4 format (its just how it work) but at this stage it just crashed. then i was trying to shutdown the computer and it just wouldnt go past the spinning circle sign so had to force shutdown.

i would say half of those file. i think i know what caused it. the script am running converts the format and of course if it gets interrupted during it it wont work so i disabled converting. it kinda of fine now but i do need to invest in better hard drive and hopeful the software gets updated with a patch or something
