It's free and open source, and has a bunch of useful features.

Setting it up depends on what OS you're on, but macOS and most major Linux distros have it through package managers such as Homebrew for macOS. To record cams, just run
Quote:yt-dlp "cam-url-goes-here"
and it'll do the rest!
Wow, I'm a long time user of yt-dlp and never thought about doing this. I just tested it and it works! Thanks!

Question curiosity but would the OBS method work well for recording blocked calls or are there better methods?

Just putting this out there:

https://duehring-edv.com/product/xstreamon-ul/

One-time fee of $54 US, this app while running will monitor a ton of cam sites, including CB, and will download any models you specify automatically when they start streaming. The full paid version allows unlimited models to be added, the base is a max of 5. I have about 30 models across a variety of sites. It automatically starts recording them when they sign on, and stops when they sign off, no user input required. Saves all files to a specified location, sorted by model.

Can toggle other things per model such as auto start record or not, what bitrate you want to record at, whether you want to save different models to different folder locations, etc. Very easy to set up and use. Again 1-time $54 USD fee, but you can also use the base version for free.

Many thanks to Redstorm for the recommendation. We couldn't have written it any better.
As a supplement, there is perhaps the page https://xstreamon.com for even more information and the download.

Try it out. 5 models are possible in the test version.

Not only is this better than the OBS method because you’re effectively grabbing the original file from the site resulting in higher quality, but you’re probably also going to wind up with smaller file sizes since you’re not effectively screen recording a stream which by default is going to need to create a larger file to even retain the quality of the original file.

Oh, and macOS and Windows users don’t even need a package manager for yt-dlp! Smile (Nor should they really use one in my opinion given that static builds are available.) Just go to the project’s GitHub page and download the prebuilt version of the app. Mac users will still have to change permissions and remove the file from quarantine, but you would have to do that even with a package manager involved. One more note on the static builds: I believe that at least the macOS version is labeled as yt-dlp_macos, so any yt-dlp commands have to be written as yt-dlp_macos and not yt-dlp. Some older Macs will require the legacy version that’s named accordingly and will need the name to match that static build as well. I’m not sure if the prebuilt Windows version appends anything to the name or if it just refers to itself as yt-dlp though.
