4 Kids Is Definitely Enough
“OH GOD! I WANT MY EPIDURAL!” Rebecca howled as she was wheeled into the delivery room
Her and her husband were expecting their 4th child, but with her previous deliveries she was completely numb and didn’t feel anything. But this labor had moved surprisingly quick and the contractions were right on top of each other when they arrived to the hospital.
The midwife removed her dress and underwear, her eyes going wide as she saw the head about to crown. “Baby’s about to crown” she announced to the nurse and Charlie.
“No no no I need an epidural, please I can’t do this!” Rebecca cried
“I’m sorry, you’re going to have to do this the old fashioned way. Let’s get your legs up and have you start pushing” she said signalling Charlie and the nurse to hold her legs wide open.
Charlie looked down and was shocked at the size of the head, trying to emerge from his wife. He had watched their other 3 children being born and although they were all a good size, this one was definitely bigger. Way bigger.
“I can’t do this! Ohhhhhh Please I can’t do this!” Rebecca argued, fighting her body’s urge to push
“Hey hey hey look at me baby” he said getting her attention. “You can do this, stop fighting it and let’s meet our baby” he said kissing her forehead.
Rebecca nodded reluctantly and dropped her chin to her chest, groaning as the baby began to push her open.
“That’s it Rebecca! Warning , you were medicated all the other times so you wouldn’t have felt the ring of fire before ,but you’re going to start feeling it now as your baby begins to crown” the midwife said rubbing her belly
No sooner than the midwife had mentioned the ring of fire did she start to feel it. “Ohhhhhhhh GOD!!” She screamed, the burning causing her to tense up and try to close her legs
“Relax your legs hun. I know it burns, but you’ve gotta let it happen” the nurse said gripping her foot so she couldn’t close her legs
“I can’t! Oh it hurts!!” She cried
“Cmon baby, relax your legs. Our baby’s almost here” Charlie soothed
Rebecca cried as she unclenched her legs, Charlie rubbing her foot in an effort to soothe her.
She reluctantly started to push again, the burning growing worse and worse as the large head slowly stretched her open. Charlie had watched it happen before, but every time she gave birth, he was still shocked at how far her little parts could open.
The midwife noticed his staring and looked up “Wanna feel the head” she asked.
He had never done that with any of his other children and knew he would regret it, if he didn’t, so he nodded. Letting his wife clench his shoulder instead of his hand, he reached between her legs. He smiled at how soft the baby’s hair was, but could feel how hot and stretched tight his wife was around 2 inches of their baby’s crown. 
He wanted his wife to be able to feel the baby too, but didn’t want her to feel the remaining bulge. So he retook her hand and once again let her squeeze it with all her might.
“Big pushes now, cmon bear down harder” the midwife instructed
Rebecca grit her teeth and obeyed, letting go of Charlie’s hand to grip her knees and get a better push.
“OH MY GOD!!” She shouted as her increased efforts suddenly shot the head forward another inch and pulled her into a perfect 3 inch wide circle
“Your stretching really good now Rebecca. Don’t stop, let’s get this baby out” the midwife instructed, her finger running around her opening
“OoooooWWWWWW OWWWWW!!” Rebecca howled, tears streaming down her face. Charlie could do nothing but rub her shoulder and help her curl into her painful pushes, wincing at her agonized screams
“Cmon Rebecca. I know everything hurts, but you need to push harder” the midwife said, her fingers pressed against the tightening skin. She could tell that the poor mother was maxing out and needed stronger pushes to make progress
“It hurts so bad! Ohhhhhh it hurts!!” Rebecca screamed, forcing her body to stretch around the baby’s head. Charlie could slowly see the blood leaving her skin as the head started to reach its widest diameter
“That’s it Rebecca, you’re almost at full crown!” The midwife exclaimed
Rebecca perked up at the news and continued to push, her body slowly maxing out. Charlie grew nervous as the her vagina turned into a white bloodless band around the baby and he couldn’t see any progress.
Rebecca could feel the progress halting and started to panic
“It’s not moving! Oh god it’s not moving!” She cried her eyes wide in fear
The midwife felt around her vagina and could feel that her skin was locked tight around the crown and wasn’t budging.
“The baby’s head is stuck. I’d normally give you an episiotomy, but since you’ve already muliple during all your previous deliveries, I don’t want to do one. We’re just going to see if letting things stretch for a few minutes will help and if it doesn’t, than I will help stretch you out” the midwife said leaning back in her chair
“Oh god Charlie I can’t do this! I just want it out!” Rebecca cried to her husband.
“It’s okay. Just breath. Just breath.” He said rubbing her knee and kissing her forehead
The midwife got up and returned with a warm cloth and a bottle of lubricant. Rubbing the lubricant over the skin and placing the warm cloth over her vagina, she hoped it would help ease the pain and relax her flesh
“Relax and everything stretch” the nurse said rubbing her shoulder.
Rebecca tried to relax but the pain was too great and she ended up just crying and praying the baby would come soon.
Charlie held and her hand and watched as 15 minutes slowly ticked away on the clock. When the midwife removed the cloth his heart sunk as he saw her skin still remaining bloodless and locked around the baby’s head
“Anything?!?” Rebecca asked desperate to hear that she was closer to being done
The midwife sighed and tried to look reassuring “It seems the baby is being stubborn and still isn’t budging” she said putting on a pair of fresh gloves. “I’m going to see if I can manually stretch you. So I need you to try and relax. Okay?” She said reaching between Rebecca’s legs
Rebecca gulped in fear and Charlie winched as the midwife began prying her open with her fingers.
“OhhhhhhhhhHHHHH THAT HURTS!!” Rebecca shrieked, fighting to close her legs against the pain
“Keep your legs open Rebecca, I know it hurts but it’s starting to work” The midwife said, her fingers pushing back against the ring of flesh harder
Charlie held his tongue but wanted to protest, choosing instead to try and calm his screeching wife. As the midwife pressed harder, he was about to tell her to stop but saw that her efforts were starting to work.
“The heads moving Rebecca! Push and we can finally get this big baby out” the midwife said, grateful that the manual stretching was working
“Push baby. You got this!” Charlie encouraged as Rebecca continued to scream. She didn’t think the pain could get any worse till the her vagina suddenly split open as the baby’s brow emerged from her.
“I’M RIPPING!!” She howled, her body arching off the bed
“I know. I’m sorry the baby’s head is too big. Try to take it slow” the midwife offered, trying to ease the head out
“AaaaahhhhhOOWWWWW!!” Rebecca continued to scream, growing more delirious by the second
“Hold on baby. You’re nearly done” Charlie exclaimed
The head was stuck at the nose and for a moment until the midwife pushed the skin of her vagina around the remaining face and the head surged out of her, covering the bed in amniotic fluid.
“Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.” Rebecca groaned trying to regain her breath
“Your baby has such a big head. Good job on getting it out!” The nurse praised
Charlie watched the head turn towards him. Its features covered in a thick layer of blood.
“Big pushes for his shoulders” The midwife said
“Almost done baby!” Charlie said rubbing her shoulder
Rebecca growled as she bore down the child’s shoulders reluctantly starting to emerge. The large tear in her perineum allowed one shoulder to emerge but the other remained inside her.
“GET IT OUT!” Rebecca roared her body fighting to free the large infant.
The midwife inserted her fingers ignoring Rebecca’s scream and hooking her finger under the baby’s armpit began yanking the second shoulder free, Rebecca tearing wide open as the wide girth emerged. Finally the massive infant was delivered and put on Rebecca’s belly.
“It’s a big baby girl!” The midwife exclaimed, the 11 pound baby girl’s cries replacing its mother’s. As Rebecca looked down she knew the pain was worth it, but grabbing her husband’s shirt she pulled him close
“I love you. But 4 kids later, you are getting a Vasectomy. End of story” she said before giving him a kiss
Charlie could only chuckle in response but everyone knew that Rebecca wasn’t joking. 4 kids was definitely enough.
