This week and next week we'll be taking a detour back through my oldest randoms with some disorganized progressions mixed in.  I thought I was missing a lot of early photos at the beginning of this process, and found them hiding in various folders last week.  The date range on most of these is 2001-2008.

Yes, Flickr was always a good resource. So was Webshots (long gone) and PBase and one other that I can't remember now.

In other news, my collection started at over 40,000 pics and is now down to around 14,000. So hopefully in another 10 batches or so I will have shared everything I have and only be retaining things I want to keep.

I got into the game at the tail end of Webshots's popularity.  I also remember that their photo downloads were in a proprietary format which was a pain in the ass to deal with.  I still had a folder with some .wbz files as recently as a couple of years ago, but I finally deleted them because I didn't give a shit.

Flickr was good, but Myspace and Photobucket were my favorites.
