1. Pretty sure lots of amateur models pull this pose a lot, so naturally it will be copied
2. It does just look awkward standing like a bean pole with your hands at your sides. Lifting a leg creates a slightly more dynamic pose
Then again I'm more or less guessing. Doesnt bother me much.

Like Tomo said, it's a common pose women(pregnant or not) use on instagram to show off their figure or outfits or both.

It adds definition to their ass cheek, makes their thigh seem skinnier because it won’t be pressing up on the other leg, and flexes their calf

It makes their legs look longer and is, as others have said, extremely common.

Interesting observation, my theory is since their belly’s stick out from their bodies, maybe they feel naturally inclined to stick their leg out as well

I dunno but I always think of it as the flamingo pose even though that's not accurate. It sure is cute though.

I'm not a woman and have never been pregnant (obviously), but I do know that raising a knee like that changes the center of gravity in a human body and reduces the stress on lower back muscles and (some) supporting muscles in the mid-back. People who have back injuries are given the advice to raise the leg like that if they have to stand for a period of time. If this is a common pose for pregnant women, I suspect it is somewhat intuitive / instinctive to do that if they are standing up, especially if their bellies cause a lot of stress on the lower back.
