I was talking about pregnant women in general, not only prostitutes. But yes, main  source of preggos is street prostitution. It usually finds in dangerous zones and involves a high  risks (for locals and foreignes) to be scammed, robbed, etc. I know a lot of stories wich start with a horny guy seeking girls in the streets. That's why  i suggested local assistance if your porpouse is to meet a certain number of preggys

Colombia has very lax sex/prostitution regulations. And when you compare USD to COL exchange rates, it is often easier and more profitable to cam than work a "traditional" job. And naturally, employers don't like to hire pregnant women.

It is also a cultural thing to just have large families in Latin American countries. Larger families mean more people earning a income in a household. So although one might think having a large family is expensive, once your kids start working they contribute to the overall household income in the long term. 

There's a lot of socioeconomic factors that make this industry very lucrative in Colombia for some. Wouldn't want my daughter doing it, though I wouldn't judge an entire country on the actions of a insignificant portion of the workforce.
