Hello everyone, im fairly new to this blog/forum but ive been into pregnant women since the 4th grade. Im starting to try approaching pregnant ladies in public and asking for belly rubs. After reading other threads about doing this, i built up enough confidence to try it IRL and thought id share a bit of my experience. 

After i get out of work i swing by target to see if i can find any good sights around the maternity section and behold a short 5'2" ish spanish woman with a huge belly under a blue shirt. Shes shopping alone so I strike up a conversation saying i was invited to a baby shower and im looking to get a gift but dont know anything about this sort of thing (There is no baby shower) She asks the gender i say "boy" she then tells me some suggestions as shes waddling up and down the isles pointing out things. I start to turn the conversation on her i ask her what shes having and how soon the baby will be here. She says in 3 weeks, and its her 2nd kid so you know she was pretty round. But i ask casual questions all while telling her how awesome it is that shes helping me out. So eventually i drop the big question and ask if i could feel her baby. She giggles a little bit and says "no sorry" while she kinda pulls her bump away. And i said "thats okay good luck with your baby and thank you for the help" then i panicked a bit and got right out of there 

I guess my reason for posting this is to ask if there was anything i could've done better/different, or was it just the woman wanting her privacy? (Which is totally understandable)

If you were a woman minding your own buisness and some guy randomly comes to you and asks to touch you, how would you honestly feel? Other people are going to say "oh it's easy, there's plenty of fish out there', and yet those fools don't realize that not every woman is going to openely invite guys to come up and touch them. You're going to strike out more than get hits, which will lead to security being called on you or end up having the employees keep an eye on you in the store.

I'd advise to cut it now if you value your public image, especially if you're doing this in places that you actually shop at.

Bro just get a gf and stop making expecting mothers uncomfortable.

Agree.  Plus IMO it is way more creepy to ask a stranger to rub their belly than to ask them for sex.   Years ago I remember someone posted and asked the best way to report a store to corporate because they got caught asking women to feel their bellies.  Please get a life.  Or get banned from Target.  If you do mature and have a family, imagine telling them why daddy can't go to Target.   And thanks for reminding me that I have to go to Target.

Just to echo the rest. Random guys coming up to them seems to be nearly the no. 1 complaint that pregnant women seem to have when mentioning other people. It's just general personal space boundaries which is not something you should push. Don't be that guy. You're not as smooth as you think.

I wouldn't say its negative. It's reality and wanting to make clear this isn't ok and isn't going to end well, trying to save you the embarrassment. 

Even if you are super charming and not coming across as awkward and nervous, which you probably are, the likelihood of a random stranger giving you permission to touch her is slim. 

Be patient. Some day you may end up finding someone special and having kids. Get all your tummy rubs in than.
