Photoshop fakes have been around forever, for example:

But deepfake videos have only been around for a year or so. Mr. Deepfakes is the best site I've found that is still up. Previous ones have been taken down. But making them takes some computer skill and a powerful graphics card. Or quite a bit more skill and a willingness to pay for powerful cloud computing.
